Kantonmeisai Tomitoku (2009-02-08)
Shu Tomitoku (周 富徳) is a very well-known Chinese chef here. He has hosted TV shows, runs two Chinese restaurants, and has his own sauces and stuff in his name. One of his restaurants, Kantonmeisai Tomitoku (http://www.tomitoku.com/), happens to be just meters from KL's office at which he had lunch with a colleague. He was so impressed with their food that he took me there one weekend.Shu-san must have an ego the size of the Moon cause giant sized
pictures of himself can be found in the restaurant and outside the
entrance. With his celebrity status, I hardly think he needs that
kind of cheesy advertisement to attract customers.
KL bypassed the braised beef rice that he so very much enjoyed previously and ordered a Crab and Charsui Omelette Over Rice dish while I went for the Pork Chop Soup Noodles and shared a shrimp dumplings dimsum together.
Truth be told, the food was better than most of the fake Chinese
food out there, but compared to the food served in Hong Kong,
Kantonmeisai has still a loooooooog loooooooog way to go.
