Short-Starred (2010-01-19)
The meal I most looked forward to on this trip is the dim sum lunch at Lung King Heen at Four Seasons in ifc, the only Michelin 3-star Chinese restaurant in the world. When we arrived at their opening time, we were told they were booked out for the next three weeks! WEEP WEEP WEEP...T_TDisappointed but hungry nonetheless, we went back to ifc mall's
third floor and tried another Michelin-starred noodle restaurant.
Their signature wonton noodles were not good! The noodles had the
right texture but full of alkaline taste, a big no-no in a bowl of
quality noodle soup. The shrimps in the wontons were alright but
not as crunchy and fresh as Mak's.
The Singapore style fried noodles were also mediocre without any
smoky wok frying flavor even I could've made that at home in a
non-stick pan. The assorted steamed rice rolls were good
though. This is a Michelin-starred restaurant? How??
Two doors down, there's Honeymoon Dessert where we had some very
good sweets in the past trips (different branch). We went back
and the sweets we
ordered were just as good as remembered.
