HK-Day 3 (2011-04-30)

April 11.  Today's mission: locate Serlina and David.

Not knowing their flight information, we started calling their hotel numerous times from late afternoon but the staff kept telling us they hadn't checked in!  By midnight, we gave up.  We left a message for them to tell Serlina or David to call us at our hotel.  Of course it never happened.

Lunch was at famous Fook Lam Moon down the street from Luxe Manor which I'll write a separate post about.

Then there's the usual shopping following lunch and by dinner time we were in Festival Walk (mall) so we decided to have some American food at Dan Ryan's there.

We were seated before 6pm and the restaurant was pretty empty.  Yet our order took 40 minutes to arrive.  My half roast chicken was so-so but KL's filet mignon which he ordered 70% done came unquestionably 100% well done.

KL is not a man with the easiest temper and he instantly turned poop-faced.  He complained to the manager and although the very apologetic manager offered to make another one for him, he turned it down.  His appetite was so ruined that he didn't want to eat his dinner anymore!  Besides he didn't want to wait another 40 minutes for a new order, and my huge chicken was really enough to feed two people.

I don't hold any grudge against the restaurant.  Chefs muck up orders, it happens, no biggy.  As long as management is prompt to rectify the problem while maintaining a good attitude, I'll return to the restaurant if the food is good.

We had dessert again at Honeymoon, two days in a row!
