American Matsutake Mushrooms (2013-12-09)
Matsutake mushrooms are out-of-this-world expensive. Imported ones are much cheaper than local ones though; I've seen 100gm (3 oz) of Japanese matustake that sold for as high as US$12000! Who would buy that?!
Came across some American matsutake that's "only" US$10 for five
mushrooms. (That's right, just five friggin' mushrooms)
I didn't dare cook them in a complicated way other than to just
panfry'em in oil. Sadly they didn't have any mind-blowing flavor
or aroma, totally not worth the money.
