Love hotels are not the kind of hotels where people primarily go to get accommodation. Nine out of ten guests who use them have one thing, and one thing only on their minds--to do a quickie. Thus, besides the usual overnight rate, these hotels also offer hourly rate and half-day rate.
Japanese are quite open-minded about love hotels. Oftentimes
the name "Love Hotel" is boldly printed outside the building and
passersby don't cast a second look at who go inside them. Many of
their patrons are your everyday young single lovebirds who just need a
private place to themselves. Love hotels are also popular
trysting places for cheating spouses. I think an even more
appropriate name for love hotels is LOVERS
Hotels.
