Cats And Plants In Enoshima (2005-06-10)
Believe it or not, Enoshima (

) is pretty well-known for
its stray cats for reason I don't know. I guess because there are
so many of them? They seem to be in every corner and most of them
are unwary of
people. You can go right up to them to take their pictures or pat
them. On the main shopping street, there is a collection box for
visitors to donate money for operations to neuter and spay stray
cats. There is a mat behind the box on which two large cats
dutifully take their nap. When cats themselves ask you for a
donation, how can you not give?
Besides cats, eagles are also plentiful. They are found
gliding and hovering in the sky on the rocky side of the island.
We saw one that flew just above our heads, we caught a very clear look
of its body and expanding wings. It's a magnificient creature!
Knowing me, I also took pictures of some unusual looking plants.
Enoshima is a good place to observe nature and its inhabitants.
