Dishes Made With The Mixes From Singapore (2009-01-20)
This Bak Kut Teh is totally different from the dark, herby and star anise-infused version we had in Malaysia. This one is extremely PEPPERY and clear. I prefer the Malaysian type though
SO VERY DELICIOUS! I didn't follow packet direction and used a 800gm chicken, marinated it in a bag overnight and roasted it at 200C for 57 min. It was juicy and moist and finger-licking goooooood. Costco in some Asian countries carry this seasoning pack, maybe you can find it in your country in Asian stores?
Emperor Chicken is also very delicious and very herby, came with wax paper and foil for steaming
This satay is yummy, the peanut dipping sauce is even yummier
DELICIOUS curry, so far my favorite kind amongst all curries
We ate it with Thai rice bought in Singapore too
This Mee Siam tastes many times better than the one I ate at Prima Taste Kitchen in Changi Airport. The lime juice that comes with the packet makes a big difference in balancing the flavor of the soup which was lacking in the restaurant version
Very thick and complex soup, it's pungent, fragrant, savory, sweet and sour, all in all, tasty!
This chicken rice from Home Gourmet is pretty good too. I cooked the chicken over the rice instead of steaming it due to laziness and it's become very overcooked and tough
Laksa fried rice is sooooooo goooooood!
