Home Cooking (2007-10-15)
Of the nine days in Sydney, we only ate two meals at home. So many places family and friends wanted to take us and there's not enough time to spare! Growing up, my Mom and Dad ran a business while she also had to do house chores and cooked. You can imagine how busy she was and cooking elaborate food was out of the question. Her cooking had to be simple and quick. Nowadays, she has plenty of time to cook and explore new dishes.Mom cooked some of our favorite dishes for the two dinner and Dad
went out of his way to buy yummy Chinese BBQ because he knows I love
BBQ food and would love the roast suckling pig from that particular
shop. They might not express their love for their children
verbally, but they surely show it with their action.
I can't say my parents are the fairest in the world when it comes to treatment to their children, either you ignore that and concentrate on the good things you've received from them or be bitter about that your whole life. I myself practice favoritism too. No matter how much a cat lover I am, when we were living in Sydney with Mauwee and Daifoo, I loved one more than the other, it's just a fact of life.
I think we are lucky to have parents like ours
although Dad could be irascible at times. But deep down they are
generous, caring and try their best to make their children happy.
My parents don't read my blog (they don't use computers!), but I still
like to say "I love you guys" here.
