Fish!Kitchen Fish & Chip (2010-11-02)

You can't leave London without eating at least once their famous fish & chip.

In the heart of Borough Market, Fish!Kitchen is a well-known take-away stall attached to its restaurant right nextdoor.  Both serve the same fish and chips, but take-away costs half the price.

There's almost always a line at the stall but it does go quickly.  We waited about 10 minutes for our turn.  Ordering is simple: place the order at the register, pay, get the receipt and move to the line on your left to wait for the call of your order.

Some customers would eat their piping hot fish at the curb but we found a spot nearby with benches, so we joined the large lunch crowd (all eating take-away food) there and ate our very first British fish & chip.

The chips were so-so (too thick and not crispy enough for my liking) but the piece of haddock was exceptional.  The coating was crunchy and the flesh thick and moist, it's very good indeed.  I should've gotten some tartar sauce to eat with it, then it'd have been perfect.
