Hong Kong Trip (2011-01-19)
One month after KL and I came back from London/Paris, I went to Hong Kong with my girlfriend! It's been my friend's "life-long dream" (her words) to visit Hong Kong with me, so KL said I'd better do it before she dies (not that she's dying)! My friend C runs a shop on her own and she cannot take a long time
off, therefore we went on a short 5-day getaway in mid November to my
birthplace, a city she only read about but has never been.
C has ZERO interest in Michelin-starred restaurants or western food
or expensive restaurants. For our trip, she particularly wanted
noodle shops and eateries where
average middle-class Hong Kong people eat at. She's also not interested
in name
brands or swanky malls, she wanted to see temples, wet markets and
suburbs not frequented by tourists. Except for the temple, it's
the kind of trip that suits me just fine.
Because of the very long European travelogue, this Hong Kong
write-up is kinda late. I'm a bit fuzzy in the details of our
trip, good thing there are photos as a record.
Many of the restaurants have appeared in this blog before, so I won't go into details. Please refer to previous posts for addresses and direction.
