Rice Noodles (2011-07-24)
I love fresh rice noodles. Japan, being a big rice country, does not make that kind of silky slippery smooth rice noodles you see in other Asian cities which is a damn shame!
There are some shops on mighty Rakuten that sell "rice noodles" but
I've always been too skeptical to try. But finally I did.
The ones I bought was a trial set of rice noodles made of white rice
and brown rice (genmai). They were sort of semi-dry that need to
be refrigerated.
The taste? Slippery smooth, but not silky enough. The
noodles were however very springy, almost like eating rubber
bands! (not that I have eaten rubber bands)
