Bracelets made of beads must be a favorite accessory for many people in Hong Kong. You see them adorning the wrists of locals young and old. These bracelets can be made of beads from semi-precious stones, crystals, glass or even wood. I think the majority wear them for superstitious reason, believing they can impart power to draw love, luck or wealth. Many also believe crystals can ward off evil spirits.
People don't wear anything on their ankles but they do like to stand
on one leg. Meaning if there is a low railing or a raised surface
near
where people stand, the chance is they'll rest one foot on that surface
to shift all their weight on one leg, reminding me of flamingos.
All they need to do now is to wear something pinkish to complete the
look.
But don't expect people to stand waiting when there is a raised
surface of stool-height near by. People will sit on anything if
it means more comfortable than standing. I have seen a woman
sitting on the stool inside an instant photo booth drawing the curtain
wide open while waiting for someone. Raised flower beds on
sidewalks are favored by the elderly and children. There is
only one problem for sitting on open surfaces on the streets: Your butt
gets dirty from the ever-present dust. May be that's why hardly
anyone wears white pants or skirts in Hong Kong.
