Sesame Ice Cream (2004-04-13)
I love sesame ice cream and Kihachi Cafe's is the best that I've tasted. This little ice cream and muffin shop can be found in the food section of several department stores. Their sesame ice cream ( goma hachimitsu) is creamy with a notable fragrance of toasted sesame seeds yet it is neither overpowering nor too sweet.
Since I can't go to their shop everyday, I make my ultra simple
version of sesame ice cream at home. Here's how I do it:
Mix 500ml Haagen Dazs vanilla ice cream with 4 tablespoons good quality
freshly toasted and ground black sesame seeds. Refreeze and serve
when
hardens again. It is the next best thing to Kihachi's.
